Published By Regional Desk
Announcement and Nationwide Context
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion said on Tuesday, 14 October 2026 that it had withdrawn the licences of a number of Sanad Services Centres after finding they breached the regulatory framework set out in Ministerial Decision No. 244/2022. The action forms part of a nationwide inspection programme aimed at upholding service quality and legal compliance throughout the Sultanate.
Details of the Regulatory Breach
The ministerial decision that establishes the rules for Sanad Services Centres was cited as the basis for the licence withdrawals, confirming that the centres had failed to comply with the prescribed bylaw.
Closure of Seventeen Centres in Dhofar
The ministry said that seventeen centres in Dhofar that did not meet the requirements have been closed as part of the inspection campaign.
Continued Oversight and Role of Sanad Centres
MoCIIP stressed that all authorised centres must follow the rules strictly and that field inspections will continue to protect users and keep service standards high. It also noted that Sanad Services Centres are private firms licensed by the ministry to provide electronic administrative services for citizens, residents and businesses across Oman.
