Sultan Qaboos University Rises to Seventh in QS Arab Region Rankings 2027

Oman: Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) has moved up to seventh place among the top Arab higher education institutions in the QS Arab Region University Rankings 2027, according to the announcement released today.

Ranking Advancement

The improvement marks a steady rise for the university, having moved from eighth position in the previous year’s regional rankings.

Performance Drivers

The elevated standing is attributed to strong results in core evaluation metrics, namely employer reputation, academic reputation, and the expansion of the university’s international research network.

Strategic Focus

This outcome reflects SQU’s ongoing strategy to deliver high-caliber graduate outcomes, advance its regional research ecosystem, and support academic faculty whose scholarly contributions serve as vital benchmarks across multiple scientific disciplines.
