Kuwait Cabinet condemns Houthi strikes on Saudi airports, urges global action

Condemnation of Houthi attacks

According to Times Kuwait, Kuwait’s Cabinet has strongly condemned the continued Houthi militia attacks on Saudi Arabia, including strikes on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and Abha Airport, which caused deaths, injured dozens of civilians and damaged airport facilities. The attacks are part of the ongoing Houthi campaign against Saudi targets.

Chairing the Cabinet’s weekly meeting on Tuesday, Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah heard the government’s condemnation of the attacks, which affected Saudi citizens and nationals of other countries, including travellers and airport employees.

The Cabinet described the attacks as a violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and international law, including international humanitarian law, and warned that targeting civilian airports and vital infrastructure represented a dangerous escalation that threatened civilian lives and the safety of air navigation.

Kuwait reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its security, stability and sovereignty, stressing that Saudi security was integral to the security of Kuwait and the other Gulf Cooperation Council states.

It extended condolences to the victims’ families and to the governments and peoples of the affected countries, wished the injured a speedy recovery and called for a firm international stance to halt the attacks and hold those responsible accountable.
