Qatar Hosts Third International Medical Devices Exhibition QMED 2026

Overview and Participation

Qatar will host the third Qatar International Medical Devices and Healthcare Exhibition and Conference (QMED 2026) opening Wednesday at the Qatar National Convention Center. The event brings together 55 companies and institutions from twelve countries to display medical technologies and discuss cooperation and investment possibilities.

Objectives and Program

Under the official patronage of the Ministry of Public Health, the three‑day gathering will unite healthcare organisations, medical and technology firms, manufacturers, suppliers, professionals and decision‑makers. QMED 2026 aims to give local and international stakeholders a platform to unveil their newest medical products, technologies and solutions, share expertise, forge partnerships and look into investment avenues. This year’s edition features wide international participation, signalling rising interest in Qatar’s health sector and the broader region. The accompanying scientific and professional agenda includes seminars, panel discussions, workshops, specialised scientific sessions and networking activities.

Statements from Officials

Nasser Ahmed Al Khouri, Director of the Public Relations and Communications Department at the Ministry of Public Health, said: “The Ministry’s patronage of the Qatar International Medical Devices and Healthcare Exhibition and Conference reflects its commitment to strengthening partnerships with the private sector and increasing its contribution to the growth and advancement of healthcare, in support of the national outcomes of Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy.”

He emphasised that the Ministry of Public Health attaches great importance to specialised events that promote innovation, strengthen partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem and ensure that Qatar’s healthcare sector stays abreast of the latest global developments in medical technology and healthcare services. Al Khouri noted that the strong international presence at the exhibition highlights Qatar’s growing reputation as a preferred venue for specialised healthcare gatherings. He added that QMED offers a valuable chance to bolster partnerships, exchange know‑how and present the latest technologies and solutions that support the continued development of Qatar’s healthcare system.

Strategic Significance

For his part, Khalifa Salman Al Muhannadi, Chairman of the QMED 2026 Organizing Committee, said: “The opening of QMED 2026 under the patronage of the Ministry of Public Health marks an important milestone in the exhibition’s development. It reflects the support extended to Qatar’s healthcare sector and the emphasis placed on strengthening cooperation between healthcare institutions, the private sector and specialised international companies.”

The third edition of QMED forms part of broader efforts to strengthen Qatar’s position as a regional hub for specialised healthcare exhibitions, conferences and events, while fostering connections between the Qatari market and international markets in line with the continued development of the country’s healthcare sector.
