Agreement Signed
In Oman, Muscat Municipality signed an agreement on Tuesday for the Unified Municipal System project with Pioneer Technical Services Company, a subsidiary of ITHCA Group.
The signing was carried out by Eng. Ahmed Said Al Amri, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, and Eng. Talib Hamoud Al Rashdi, Acting CEO of ITHCA Group, who acted on behalf of the company.
Project Goals and Benefits
Eng. Ahmed Said Al Amri explained that the agreement marks a strategic step toward developing the municipal work ecosystem in the Sultanate of Oman by unifying services across governorates on an integrated digital platform, covering building permits, lease contracts, permits and other related services.
In a statement to the Oman News Agency, he said the project aims to automate and streamline procedures so that beneficiaries can complete their transactions easily and quickly, improving service quality and delivery efficiency for individuals and businesses while raising municipal performance and fostering integration among governorates.
He added that the initiative goes beyond service upgrades to create a unified data ecosystem that supports decision‑making and urban planning, opening the door for artificial intelligence and modern technologies in service development and enhancing city‑management efficiency in line with Oman Vision 2040.
The project will rely on geospatial systems to consolidate municipal data and improve planning and decision‑making efficiency.
Partner Perspective
Eng. Talib Hamoud Al Rashdi noted that signing the agreement for the Unified Municipal Platform project today continues government efforts to accelerate digital transformation for services provided to Muscat Municipality’s beneficiaries and to municipalities across the sultanate’s governorates.
He said the project is expected to deliver a qualitative leap in government digital services, especially those offered in the municipal sector throughout the governorates of Oman.
The initiative reflects wider regional moves toward e‑government, with Oman joining neighbouring states in pushing digital public‑service reforms.
