Oman's Heritage Ministry Launches Itqan Digital Platform with 14 Electronic Services

Launch of Itqan Platform

Muscat: Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Oman launched the internal digital platform Itqan on Tuesday, together with a package of 14 electronic services for beneficiaries, as part of its efforts to develop the work environment, raise institutional performance efficiency and facilitate transaction processing.

Features and Benefits

The Itqan platform aims to link strategic plans with project execution, enhance data accuracy and give senior leadership a comprehensive, real-time overview of the ministry’s performance, thereby supporting decision‑making, helping detect challenges early and monitoring progress toward achieving objectives.

Asmaa Abdullah Al Sinani, Director of Digital Transformation, stated that the launch of the Itqan platform and the new electronic services come within the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism’s efforts to advance institutional performance and improve beneficiary experience. She explained that the platform enables linking strategic plans with project implementation and tracking their performance, providing accurate and updated data that supports decision‑making, while the electronic services facilitate the completion of transactions without the need to visit the ministry’s headquarters.

She added that through these digital solutions, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism seeks to enhance integration among its departments, establish a culture of transparency and institutional work, and enable employees to carry out their duties with efficiency and clarity, thereby contributing to achieving the ministry’s goals and delivering more accessible services to beneficiaries.

The platform gives project managers the ability to plan projects, track execution and manage associated risks. At the same time, it provides employees with clear task outlines and shows how their contributions support the ministry’s goals, which reinforces the connections between different departments and integrates their efforts.

Beneficiaries can use the electronic services, which span adventure tourism, tourism establishments, fine arts groups and caves, to complete their transactions online without going to the ministry’s headquarters.

Electronic Services Package

Introducing the platform and its accompanying services forms part of the ministry’s broader digital transformation strategy, which seeks to improve internal efficiency and simplify procedures for those who use its services.

Oman has been prioritising digital initiatives to strengthen its tourism sector and public services.
