Omani and Spanish Experts Collaborate to Improve Organ Donation Services

Muscat: The Omani Center for Regulating Organ and Human Tissue Donation and Transplantation has held discussions with specialists from the Spanish Donation and Transplantation Institute on refining organ donation services in the Sultanate of Oman, specifically following cases of brain death. The talks also focused on boosting performance efficiency and elevating the quality of healthcare provision.

Exchange of International Expertise

The visit was designed to facilitate the exchange of international know-how, review current practices and procedures, and develop and implement key performance indicators to assess service quality and effectiveness. Participants also examined obstacles and potential avenues for growth with experts and healthcare staff.

Joint Cooperation Framework

This engagement is part of a broader collaborative effort aimed at standardising procedures, improving outcomes, and making optimal use of donated organs. These steps contribute to the advancement of Oman’s organ donation and transplantation system, aligning with regional trends in healthcare modernisation across the Gulf.
