Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education held a ceremony to recognise private schools and kindergartens that won the third edition of the ‘Rayty Baydaa’ (My Flag is White) Award for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Award Criteria and Purpose
The event took place in the ministry’s theatre at its permanent headquarters, honouring institutions that demonstrated full compliance with existing regulations and legislation. Schools and nurseries that maintained a violation‑free record for three consecutive years also received the ‘Rayty Baydaa’ Trophy.
The ceremony aims to strengthen standards of security, safety and administrative discipline in learning environments, encourage continual improvement of facilities and provide a safe setting for students. It also acknowledges private‑sector educators and staff who make regulatory compliance a priority in their operations.
The award is granted according to regulatory and administrative criteria that require institutions to keep records free of violations, complaints and warnings throughout the academic year, based on reports approved by the Licensing Section.
These criteria cover compliance with operational requirements, relevant regulations and approved licences, the outcomes of administrative and on‑site inspections and follow‑ups, the quality of relations between school administrations and parents, as well as commitment, accuracy and responsiveness in dealings with the Private Schools and Kindergartens Department.
Officials’ Remarks
Dr. Rania Mohammed, Director of the Private Schools and Kindergartens Department, said the ‘My Flag is White’ Award fosters a culture of institutional compliance among private schools and kindergartens and reinforces respect for the laws and regulations that govern them.
She added that such compliance helps guarantee a safe and stable educational atmosphere, protects pupils’ rights and bolsters parents’ confidence in the institutions.
Dr. Mohammed explained that the third edition marks the completion of the award’s first cycle and recognises the first group of educational institutions to obtain the trophy after satisfying the approved criteria for three successive years.
Results of the Ceremony
She stated that a total of 207 private schools and kindergartens were honoured this year, consisting of 126 schools and 81 kindergartens, compared with 166 institutions the previous year. This rise occurred despite the introduction of stricter eligibility conditions, including the addition of licensing‑related warnings to the award’s assessment standards.
During the ceremony, 63 schools and kindergartens received trophies, 45 were presented with shields and 99 obtained certificates of thanks and appreciation.
Broader Objectives
The ‘Rayty Baydaa’ Award seeks to highlight successful models in the education sector as examples for other private schools and kindergartens, stimulate positive competition and excellence in performance, and motivate private educational providers to operate according to the highest standards of quality and transparency.
