Egypt Launches 400 Ready‑to‑Operate Industrial Units Across Ten Governorates
Published By Regional Desk
Overview of the Offering
Egypt’s Industrial Development Authority (IDA) has announced the offering of 400 ready‑to‑operate industrial units across 11 industrial complexes in 10 governorates. Applications will be accepted from 15 October to 29 October 2026 through the Egypt Industrial Digital Platform.
Unit Details and Allocation
The fully constructed units are equipped with utilities and range in size from 48 square metres to 960 square metres. They are earmarked for a variety of sectors, including engineering, food processing, chemicals, metalworking, pharmaceuticals, leather, textiles and building materials.
The initiative follows directives from Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem aimed at strengthening supply chains, localising industrial production and widening investment prospects for small investors and entrepreneurs.
Nahed Youssef, chairperson of the IDA, said the units will be offered under ownership schemes at eight complexes: Merghem 2 in Alexandria, Sadat in Monufia, the Metal Industries Complex in Fayoum, Bayad Al Arab in Beni Suef, Al Matayra in Minya, Arab Al Awamer in Assiut, West Gerga in Sohag and Al Baghdadi in Luxor.
Units will also be available under either ownership or rental arrangements at the Al Genaina and Shabak Complex in Aswan, the Concrete Industries Complex in Fayoum and the How Complex in Qena.
Incentives and Support Measures
Youssef explained that the offering aims to give small investors factories that are ready for immediate operation, allowing them to start production without bearing extra construction or infrastructure costs.
The package includes financial incentives, simplified procedures for obtaining industrial licences and the possibility of securing bank financing for projects.
Applicants may also benefit from financing programmes provided by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) to acquire machinery, equipment and production lines, as well as receive technical assistance and marketing support.
Application Process and Objectives
Applications, including unit reservations and the purchase of tender documents, will be processed entirely online via the Egypt Industrial Digital Platform at www.egyptindustrialhub.com.
Youssef said the digital process was designed to simplify procedures, ensure transparency and provide equal opportunities for applicants. She added that applications will be reviewed and assessed after the submission window closes.
The IDA noted that some of the units included in the latest offering had been withdrawn from previous allottees as part of a campaign targeting unused industrial land and units, as well as projects that had exceeded their approved implementation schedules and any grace periods.
The move is intended to make these facilities available to serious investors and to redirect them towards projects focused on actual production and employment.
