Jordan’s Land Transport Regulatory Commission to Launch Salt Public Transport Tender in March 2027

Overview

The Land Transport Regulatory Commission announced that it will issue a tender for the construction of a new departure and arrival centre for public transport services in Salt, with the bidding process set to open in March 2027. The statement was released on Thursday, noting that the tender follows the completion of the project’s design work and all necessary preparatory steps. Salt, situated northwest of Amman, is one of Jordan’s historic cities.

Project Details

The commission said the project aims to upgrade public transport facilities in the city and provide a more organised and comfortable environment for passengers. This will be achieved by improving waiting areas, facilitating smoother passenger movement and regulating bus arrivals and departures, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and service quality. An architectural design will also be implemented to organise the flow of buses and passengers within the centre.

Expected Impact

The project is expected to contribute to an improved public transport experience for residents of Salt, making travel more reliable and pleasant by organising bus and passenger movements and upgrading waiting facilities.
