Ranking Details
He placed 765th out of 146,713 surgeons worldwide, which corresponds to roughly the top 0.52 percent of his specialty.
About the Stanford‑Elsevier List
The list, commonly known as the Stanford‑Elsevier top 2 percent list, is compiled by a team led by Professor John Ioannidis of Stanford University and released via Elsevier’s data repository using Scopus information.
It evaluates scientific impact through citations, h‑index, research output and authorship position, rather than counting papers alone.
Tracks and Timing
The ranking features two tracks: one assessing a researcher’s entire career and the other focusing on a single year.
The 2026 update was published on 7 October, with the annual track based on data and citations recorded in 2025.
Implications for Kuwaiti Research
The result underscores the presence of Kuwaiti scholars on the international scientific stage and highlights the reach of Kuwaiti medical research within the global academic community.
