Inspection of Sabah Al-Nasser Bridge Works
Kuwait’s Minister of Public Works, Dr Noura Al-Mashaan, visited the Sabah Al-Nasser Bridge site on Wednesday to review the progress of final works ahead of the scheduled opening of several roads and roundabouts at 04:00 on Thursday, carried out in coordination with the General Traffic Department.
The Sixth Ring Road is a major highway encircling Kuwait City and forms a key part of the country’s transport network.
Details of the Opening Phase
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Mashaan said the opening phase includes the service road running parallel to the Sixth Ring Road towards Messilah, as well as the southwestern roundabout serving traffic from Road 604 towards Kabd and connecting to the Sixth Ring Road towards Messilah.
The southeastern roundabout will also open, allowing traffic travelling from the Sixth Ring Road towards Messilah to access Road 604 in the direction of the Sabah Al-Nasser area.
Minister’s Remarks on Implementation
Al-Mashaan said the opening of the new lanes forms part of the project’s phased implementation and reflects the ministry’s efforts to complete vital infrastructure projects, improve road network efficiency and ease traffic congestion.
She stressed that the ministry continues to monitor projects on site until completion and commissioning to ensure that all works meet technical specifications and safety requirements before being opened to road users.
The minister also highlighted the importance of continued coordination between ministry teams and the relevant authorities to ensure smooth and safe traffic movement and maximize the benefits of the new lanes.
Advice to Motorists
She urged motorists to follow traffic signs and instructions during the opening phase and check updates from the General Traffic Department regarding any temporary diversions or closures in the project area.
