Kuwait Launches Fifth Wazifati Job Fair to Boost Youth Employment

Kuwait’s Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr Tareq Al‑Jalahma, opened the fifth edition of the Wazifati (My Job) employment fair on Thursday, acting under his patronage and noting that the event forms part of the country’s Youth and Sports Season.

The event reflects ongoing regional efforts to tackle youth unemployment across the Arab world.

Opening Ceremony

He said the fair builds on existing efforts to strengthen the concept of work and to support young people in finding jobs and training opportunities.

Minister’s Vision

Al‑Jalahma stressed that graduates’ hopes for the labour market must be met on the ground by providing jobs, training and creating new openings, which would increase productive work and build a better future for jobseekers.

He added that Wazifati brings private and public sectors together under one roof to open fresh prospects for young Kuwaitis, guide them toward successful careers and create new routes into employment, describing them as the nation’s future leaders.

The minister welcomed the number of private companies and government bodies taking part and wished young visitors success in finding suitable positions.

PAM’s Commitment

Eng Rabab Al‑Osaimi, Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower, said young people are the backbone of the state and quoted: “Nations are built only by the efforts of their sons and daughters.”

She explained that creating job opportunities helps them build a clearer and more successful future, noted Kuwait’s confidence in its youth and said PAM helps young people discover their abilities and gives them the confidence needed to build a better future.

Al‑Osaimi added that they are capable of meeting the demands of the labour market and that PAM works to create an ideal work environment, giving young people room to bring their ambitions and ideas to the labour market.

She said the authority’s full support reflects its commitment to backing and developing national talent for the future, thanked Al‑Jalahma and the participating companies and institutions for their contribution to the fair.

Fair Logistics

The fair runs until Oct 17 at The Arena hall in 360 Mall and brings together more than 120 public and private sector entities.
