Kuwaiti Authorities Make Vandals Repaint School Wall After WhatsApp Complaint

Kuwait: The General Traffic Department apprehended an individual who had graffitied the wall of a school in Ali Sabah Al-Salem and compelled him to repaint it, the Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday.

Arrest under Ministerial Directive

The arrest was carried out on the instructions of First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, as part of the ministry’s broader initiative to safeguard public property and respond to citizen complaints, the ministry said in a statement.

Complaint via WhatsApp Leads to Identification

The Security Control Department of the General Traffic Department acted after receiving a complaint through the traffic complaints WhatsApp number, which included a video showing a person writing on the school wall. Investigators subsequently identified and arrested the suspect, who admitted to the act. He was then referred to the appropriate authorities for further legal proceedings.

Family Involvement and Restoration

Following Sheikh Fahd’s directives, the suspect’s family was summoned and he was ordered to repair the damage. With their assistance, he erased the graffiti and repainted the wall, returning it to its original condition.

Official Warning and Public Appeal

The Ministry of Interior emphasized the importance of protecting public facilities, warned that legal action would be taken against anyone who damages public property, and urged citizens to report such behaviour through official channels.
