Kuwaiti Police Arrest Reckless Drivers, Crush Hidden Farm Vehicles

Arrest and Seizure of Vehicles

The Ministry of Interior said on Wednesday that the General Traffic Department had seized two vehicles wanted for reckless driving after they were hidden inside a farm in Wafra’s agricultural area, and later arrested their drivers. Patrols from the department’s Security Control Department, which were monitoring the area, spotted the two vehicles entering the farm in an attempt to hide them. Investigations showed that both vehicles were wanted and that the reckless driving offenses committed in them had been captured on video.

Charges and Legal Action

After coordinating with the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources, officers entered the farm and seized the vehicles. The two drivers were later arrested and admitted the offenses. They were cited for reckless driving endangering others, driving a vehicle producing disturbing noise, putting stickers and writing on a vehicle, and driving a vehicle without license plates.

Official Warning and Continued Monitoring

Both drivers were referred to the Central Prison, and the vehicles were confiscated and crushed under Article 33 bis of the Traffic Law. The General Traffic Department warned against reckless driving, saying that endangering the lives of others would be met with firm enforcement of the law, and that monitoring would continue to hold accountable anyone who threatens road safety.
