Morocco’s Mansouri Represents King at Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow

Morocco’s Head of Government, Fatima Zahra Mansouri, arrived in Moscow on Wednesday to represent King Mohammed VI at the opening of the third Russia-Africa Summit.

Delegation and Summit Theme

Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Morocco’s ambassador to Russia, Lotfi Bouchaara, are also part of the Moroccan delegation.

The summit is being held under the theme “For Peace, Security and Development,” bringing together representatives from African countries to discuss expanding cooperation with Russia.

Economic Forum and Key Sectors

Alongside the summit, the Russia-Africa Economic Forum is focusing on trade, investment, energy, agriculture and technology, as Moscow aims to strengthen its economic and diplomatic ties with African partners.

Previous Summits and Bilateral Talks

The current meeting follows two earlier Russia-Africa summits, held in Sochi in 2019 and St. Petersburg in 2023.

Mansouri’s attendance marks Morocco’s participation at the head-of-government level in the latest round of talks, with the summit offering opportunities for bilateral meetings and discussions on cooperation between Russia and African countries.
