Italian Pavilion to Host 17 Firms at Libya Construction Expo in November

Seventeen Italian companies will participate in the Libya Construction Expo 2026 under a dedicated Italian Pavilion, the Tripoli office of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA/ICE) has confirmed. The event is scheduled to take place from 8 to 11 November at the Tripoli International Fairgrounds.

Exhibition Space and Participant Profile

The Italian Pavilion covers an area of 230 square metres, with each company allocated a 12-square-metre booth to display its products and greet professionals and visitors. The participating firms operate in the construction and furnishing sectors, including construction machinery, engineering consultancies, and furniture and design companies. An official institutional zone run by ITA is also set up to receive visitors and arrange B2B meetings.

Historic Debut for Italian Trade Agency

ITA stated that this edition marks a historic milestone, as the exhibition is hosting an Italian Pavilion for the first time, organised by the ITA Tripoli office. The agency, which works in close coordination with Italian embassies worldwide, is at the forefront of promoting the “Made in Italy” brand internationally, it added.

“We are particularly proud to host so many leading companies within the Italian Pavilion, which features a carefully curated and elegant design to provide a pleasant experience for visitors and delegations,” said Libero Tessitore, director of the ITA Tripoli office, ahead of the event.

“This year, as we celebrate 100 years of the Italian Trade Agency, the role of this institution proves to still be crucial: global markets are evolving, giving rise to new challenges that companies—especially SMEs—must face with the right tools to compete abroad. In a fast-evolving global arena, ITA’s commitment through organising Italian pavilions at leading international exhibitions and incoming buyer programmes to Italy remains a key factor to match supply and demand and create tangible opportunities for international growth,” he added.

Ambassador Highlights Italian Commitment

Italy’s Ambassador to Libya, Gianluca Alberini, expressed satisfaction with the strong Italian presence at the exhibition.

“We are proud to bring a high-profile delegation of leading Italian companies to the Libya Construction Expo, showcasing their products and services across the entire building supply chain—from construction machinery to elegant, high-end fixtures such as premium doors and windows. This clearly shows how Made in Italy excellence can be fully integrated into local development plans, across both commercial and residential projects,” the ambassador said.

He noted that the Italian presence will be further highlighted by the participation of architect Alessandro Colombo in technical panel sessions at the Design and Architecture Forum (DAF). Colombo, who has been appointed “Ambassador of Italian Design in the World” by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, will join the sessions on 9 November. He will share insights into the latest innovations in design and illustrate how Italian craftsmanship can evolve into internationally recognised brands, bringing local excellence to the global market.

Alberini added: “I consider the Italian participation as proof of an ongoing process that is gradually bringing more and more companies ready to explore the Libyan market. The main goal of the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Trade Agency is to consolidate and expand Italian participation with ever-larger national pavilions, gradually involving new sectors in the main exhibitions in Libya. I warmly invite all visitors to discover these Italian excellences and visit our Pavilion.”
