Meeting objectives
Oman’s representatives in the Omani‑Saudi Business Council gathered in Muscat on Tuesday for a meeting hosted by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting aimed to discuss the two countries’ agenda for economic and commercial cooperation and to prepare for the OSBC’s upcoming joint session in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The discussion forms part of broader Gulf initiatives to deepen bilateral trade and investment.
Chair’s remarks
Sheikh Ali Hamad Al Kalbani, head of the Omani side of the OSBC, opened the meeting with the following statement: “the current stage focuses on defining clear priorities for cooperation between Omani and Saudi private sector establishments, notably by studying the views and proposals of OSBC members about measures to boost trade exchange and expand investment partnerships.” He added that “the upcoming meeting would help convert these proposals into practical steps that could generate new opportunities for business owners and enhance the ability of the two countries’ private sectors to capitalise on options available in their markets.”
Next steps
The council intends to take the outcomes of Tuesday’s discussion to the forthcoming joint meeting in Riyadh, where the proposals will be turned into concrete actions aimed at creating fresh business prospects and strengthening private‑sector utilisation of market opportunities in both Oman and Saudi Arabia.
