Qatar’s RACA and Saudi Non‑Profit Centre Discuss Cooperation in Doha

Meeting Highlights Mutual Cooperation

According to the Arab Hub Post, officials from the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA) in Qatar met with a delegation from Saudi Arabia’s National Centre for Non-Profit Sector Development in Doha. The meeting underscores growing Gulf cooperation on charitable sector regulation. Officials discussed topics of mutual interest, explored ways to enhance coordination and benefit from each other’s experience in regulating charitable and humanitarian work, and aimed to boost community impact.

Review of Strategies and Global Indicators

The two‑day visit included a series of specialised meetings held by the Authority’s relevant departments. During these sessions the delegation was briefed on RACA’s experience in regulating the charitable and humanitarian sector and improving its performance. Participants also reviewed the Authority’s strategy for 2025‑2030 and the Strategy for Charitable and Humanitarian Work in the State of Qatar for the same period. Discussions covered the methodology of the World Giving Index 2025, Qatar’s ranking in that index, and the role of regulatory bodies in strengthening trust in the non‑profit sector while supporting its sustainability.

Exchange of Supervisory Practices and Digital Initiatives

The talks further examined the exchange of experiences in supervision, control, fundraising regulation and compliance, and considered how international indicators and reports—chiefly the World Giving Index—can inform the continuous development of policies and practices to enhance the sector’s impact on sustainable development. The programme also featured an overview of the Authority’s digital transformation efforts, highlighting major projects such as the electronic portal services and the internal aid coordination platform known as Sanadi, alongside a discussion on the role of data and performance measurement in improving services and achieving strategic goals.

Significance of Institutional Dialogue

The visit reflects the importance of communication between peer institutions in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, contributing to the sharing of related experiences and practices in charitable and humanitarian work and maximising its impact.
