KUWAIT: Burgan Bank took part in the Student Welcome Week activities organised at the American University of Kuwait (AUK) and the Australian University (AU) as the new academic term got under way. The bank’s involvement underscored its ongoing dedication to supporting Kuwaiti youth and the education sector, while deepening its ties with university students and reinforcing long-established partnerships with academic institutions.
Welcome Week Engagement
At both universities, the Welcome Week events drew strong student participation. Burgan Bank representatives greeted students and offered complimentary coffee from Caribou Coffee, as well as health check-ups and wellness advice provided in collaboration with Kuwait Hospital. The activities were designed to create a welcoming atmosphere and encourage students to begin the academic year on a positive and health-conscious note.
Youth-Focused Banking Solutions
During the events, Burgan Bank staff engaged directly with students, presenting innovative banking and digital solutions tailored to their needs, with particular emphasis on the YOUTH account. This account is specially designed to suit the lifestyles of young people, offering a flexible and convenient banking experience that helps them manage daily expenses, develop financial awareness from an early age, support their financial independence, and align with their future goals.
Commenting on the initiative, Hessa Hussain AlNajadah, Senior Manager – Media Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Burgan Bank, said: “Our participation in Welcome Week reflects our commitment to engaging directly with students at the start of the academic year. We are also proud of our long-standing partnerships with the American University of Kuwait and the Australian University, which underscore our continued focus on the education sector and building meaningful connections with young people. Simultaneously, the collaboration between Burgan Bank, the American University of Kuwait and Kuwait Hospital serves as a clear example of cooperation among institutions under the umbrella of Kuwait Projects Company (Holding) – KIPCO, leveraging their expertise and capabilities across different fields to serve students and the wider community.”
AlNajadah added: “We believe that connecting with young people and listening to their aspirations form an important part of our approach to developing initiatives and products that align with their expectations. Through the YOUTH account and our continued support for the ‘Let’s Be Aware’ (Diraya) campaign, we aim to provide young customers with banking solutions that meet their needs while strengthening their financial awareness from an early age. This forms part of the Bank’s comprehensive corporate social responsibility program and its commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards, in alignment with the goals of Kuwait Vision 2035 to invest in youth and support sustainable development.”
Broader Back-to-School Initiatives
As part of its wider back-to-school efforts, Burgan Bank also organised a family-friendly event at Sky Zone in Assima Mall, bringing families together before the new academic year for a fun-filled experience featuring interactive activities, competitions, and cash prizes. Additionally, the bank launched its “Burgan Rewards” back-to-school campaign, offering eligible customers five times the reward points on purchases of school supplies, clothing, and electronics made with eligible credit cards at participating stores.
Burgan Bank remains committed to supporting youth and the education sector through its partnerships with academic institutions and a diverse range of programmes focused on education, skills development, and financial awareness. Through these efforts, the bank reinforces its role as an active partner in advancing the capabilities of younger generations under its “Driven by You” slogan.
