Kuwait illegal residents agency, university discuss academic and regulatory cooperation

KUWAIT — Saleh Al-Fadalah, head of the Central Agency for Remedying Illegal Residents Status (CARIRS), met with a delegation from Kuwait University on Tuesday. The university group was led by Acting Secretary-General Dr Noura Al-Suwaih. Talks focused on issues related to illegal residents, with particular emphasis on academic and regulatory collaboration between the two institutions.

Coordination meeting chaired by senior officials

According to a press statement issued by the agency on Tuesday, a coordination meeting took place during the visit. The session was chaired by CARIRS Acting Secretary-General Brigadier General Dr Sharif Al-Kandari. It was attended by assistant secretaries, other agency officials, and members of the visiting academic delegation.

Emphasis on joint work and public interest

The meeting highlighted the importance of sustained coordination and mutual cooperation, as well as the integration of roles between the two bodies to serve the public interest. Participants discussed ways to facilitate procedures and improve mechanisms for joint work. The statement added that the session included a presentation outlining CARIRS’ efforts, facilities, and services. This was followed by discussions on a range of issues of mutual concern.

Kuwait has long sought to address the situation of illegal residents through institutional cooperation and legal avenues. The Central Agency for Remedying Illegal Residents Status was established to manage cases and offer solutions to those without legal residency. — KUNA
