ABRAJ Energy Services Boosts Oman’s In‑Country Value Through Local Procurement and Talent Growth in H1 2026

In Muscat, ABRAJ Energy Services, Oman’s leading provider of integrated energy services, reported continued strengthening of its In‑Country Value (ICV) contributions during the first half of 2026, in line with broader Gulf efforts to boost local content.

Indicators for the first half of 2026 reveal increased local procurement, ongoing investment in national capabilities and backing for domestic manufacturing in support of Oman Vision 2040.

Local Procurement and Supply Chain Growth

In H1 2026, ABRAJ channeled seventy percent of its total procurement spend to domestic suppliers, amounting to OMR 26.5 million of the total OMR 37.7 million expenditure.

Small and medium enterprises, local service providers and holders of the Riyada card together made up thirty percent of the expenditure, roughly OMR 11.5 million.

Locally registered suppliers accounted for forty percent of the total, corresponding to OMR 15.1 million.

Purchases of goods manufactured inside the Sultanate of Oman comprised eleven percent of total expenditure, valued at OMR 4.1 million, highlighting ABRAJ’s priority on national products and deeper ties with domestic suppliers.

Investment in Omani Human Capital

ABRAJ continues to view human capital as the vital engine that drives operational sustainability and meets the evolving needs of the energy sector.

During the first half of 2026 the firm kept an Omanization rate of 93.21 %, with 2,265 Omani professionals on its payroll.

Over the same period ABRAJ provided 36,861 training hours to the national workforce.

Its graduate and professional development programmes supported 78 trainees, and the second cohort of the Forsa summer internship programme welcomed 60 participants, giving young people practical technical skills for future sector careers.

Localising Specialised Energy Solutions

To boost domestic industrial capacity, ABRAJ pursued initiatives to localise the production of specialised materials needed for well stimulation and hydraulic fracturing, notably fracturing proppants.

These localisation measures improve supply chain security, cut import dependence, integrate Omani manufacturers into the upstream energy value chain and markedly expand the domestic economic footprint.

Saif Al Hamhami, Chief Executive Officer of ABRAJ Energy Services, said:

“As we mark 20 years of operational excellence, In-Country Value remains a fundamental pillar of our strategy to deliver sustainable economic returns for the Sultanate of Oman. Our continuous investment in Omani professionals, our partnerships with local enterprises and entrepreneurs, and our commitment to domestic manufacturing form a tangible roadmap for industrial resilience. This commitment reinforces our role as a national champion dedicated to advancing economic diversification and fulfilling the goals of Oman Vision 2040.”

ABRAJ Energy Services remains committed to leading high‑impact ICV initiatives, boosting business competitiveness and nurturing an integrated, sustainable energy sector that reinforces Oman’s regional leadership.
